The Palmetto Association of Independent Schools (PAIS)
proudly represents the interests of South Carolina's
independent schools as a State Association member of
- the National Association of Independent Schools
(NAIS),
- the Southern Association of Independent Schools
(SAIS), and
- the Council for American Private Education (CAPE).
|
The recognized voice of independent education in South
Carolina, PAIS provides the shared link for South
Carolina's independent schools with regional and national independent
school associations like SAIS and NAIS.
PAIS and its member schools undergo rigorous school
accreditation. PAIS schools observe the highest standards for student admissions and achievement, academic instruction, flexible
and dynamic curriculum, and faculty selection and retention. Each PAIS school is actively committed to the establishment and exercise
of nondiscriminatory policies and practices, and shares in a common
commitment to the goal of diverse, inclusive participation in our
schools and their communities. The Association works with school administration
and trustees to assure sound exercise of school governance, legal and
financial practices. |

Responding to demand is something else that most educators don’t seem to get, perhaps because they have grown accustomed to their monopoly. The first basic truth they ignore is this: humans are a curious species from birth, eager to master our environment. The second truth: most parents want the very best for their children and will enthusiastically support good schools.
